Hypercapnia and Using Essential Oils

Hypercapnia is the medical condition that we now have to be aware of since Covid-19. It is a medical condition caused by re-breathing our own CO2 (carbon dioxide) when wearing the required masks of protection.

Research informs us that prolonged use of the masks can dull our vision, affect our hearing, cause drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, reduced and shortened breath, muscular tremors and increased heart and blood pressure issues.

For those of us required to wear masks for work, we 1) might want to be mindful how long your mask is on and 2) consider therapeutic grade essential oils to spray in your mask or to inhale every hour or so to increase your oxygen levels and avoid any symptoms. Essential oils especially good to enhance Oxygen levels in the body during mask wearing or if you have any breathing issues are: cedarwood, peppermint, lavender, thyme, lemon, or rosemary. Another very popular blend for breathing issues is called RC.

I have been spraying my mask with essential oils ever since I have had to wear one to go to the stores. The fragrance is refreshing and uplifting, boosts our immune systems, increases breathing capacity and respiratory circulation. The oils can also be placed on your feet to increase Oxygen levels.

Be safe, take care of yourself and smell good too. It’s win-win! Please make sure you are using therapeutic grade essential oils. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me with your questions.
